Pierre-Luc Dubois is already causing a stir in Los Angeles and it's concerning: Kent Hughes and the Canadiens may have dodged a bullet
You are certainly familiar with the history of Pierre-Luc Dubois, whose name has been linked to the Montreal Canadiens for months, if not years, before being finally traded to the Los Angeles Kings.
A question we often receive is how is Dubois doing with the Kings? We hear little about him and the few articles about him are not necessarily flattering.
It seems that the same pattern continues for Dubois, whom Los Angeles journalists consider very inconsistent and unpredictable.
In the past, Dubois was regularly accused of not being consistent in his game.
That hasn't changed.
"The hesitant and uninvolved version of Dubois is what the Kings have seen too often this season."
- via Helene Elliott, Los Angeles journalist
Another journalist adds that Dubois seems uninterested at times, which is obviously concerning.
Dubois still has 8 points in 15 games this season, but his negative differential of -4 speaks volumes.
A forward with 44 points/82 games inconsistent and unreliable defensively, let's say it's not what the Kings paid so much for.
It will be interesting to see if the message will eventually get through.
Dubois is signed for $8.5 million until 2031. Was this a good investment for the Kings? Time will tell.
