Charlie McAvoy's Tournament Is Over as Boston Bruins Make Major Announcement for Team USA
We have an update on star defenseman from the United States, Charlie McAvoy, who was transported to the hospital in the last few hours.
For those who missed this major news, the details are just below.
And now, we have just received major confirmation as Team USA takes another big blow.
The Boston Bruins have just released an official statement announcing that McAvoy is officially OUT for Thursday night's game against Team Canada.
He will not be in uniform.
Team USA will be without Charlie McAvoy for Thursday night's final
This is obviously a huge loss for the Americans.
We had just learned that McAvoy was been transported to the hospital due to an infection.
"Sources say Team USA defenseman Charlie McAvoy was admitted to the hospital on Monday night with an infection that stemmed from a minor injury."

And this infection will officially keep him out of Thursday night's game.
"The Boston Bruins announce that Charlie McAvoy will not play for Team USA in Thursday's 4 Nations Face-Off championship game."

McAvoy had been sensational for Team USA throughout the competition, especially during their victory last Saturday at the Bell Centre against Team Canada.
The Boston Bruins organization also released a statement:
Charlie was admitted to Massachusetts General Hospital on Monday to undergo testing related to an upper-body injury sustained during the 4 Nations Face-Off and is currently being evaluated by Boston
Bruins Head Team Physician Dr. Peter Asnis.
He will not play for Team USA in the 4 Nations Face-Off Championship Game on Thursday at TD Garden.
The Boston Bruins will provide further updates on his condition and status as soon as they become available.
