Late last night, we received some rather unfortunate news involving forward Jonathan Drouin, the former Montreal Canadien.

He was removed from the 1st line and was separated from Nathan MacKinnon/Mikko Rantanen.

This must obviously be a huge disappointment for Jonathan, but he can still play on a line complemented by Artturi Lehkonen and Ryan Johansen.

It's not bad, but it's far from the two 100-point players that MacKinnon and Rantanen are. This definitely puts the narrative that Drouin has the potential to score 60-65 points this season in Colorado at risk.

Story to follow.

Drouin, 28 years old, has one point in 3 games with the Avalanche and 4 penalty minutes.

At one point in the game, Tomas Tatar even took shifts in place of Drouin.
