Although the Detroit Red Wings are entering trade season looking to acquire young talent, it looks like one of their best young players could be on his way out.
Indeed, rumors are mounting that winger Filip Zadina, who will be a restricted free agent at the end of this campaign, could well benefit from a change of scenery. The 22-year-old has shown some good flashes since being selected 6th overall in 2018, but has struggled to find consistency in the young Red Wings squad.
It looks like the Wings are willing to facilitate a trade, but they're in no rush. Most suitors are looking for more reliable veterans at the trade deadline, which means a trade for Zadina could wait until this summer. Nonetheless, teams will continue to give it a shot in the coming weeks.
Whether or not Zadina leaves Detroit by March 21, there are also rumors that would send players Tyler Bertuzzi, Thomas Greiss, Nick Leddy and Marc Staal to other places. It's brewing in Detroit!
