Alex Ovechkin is a unique individual who is rewriting or writing the National Hockey League's extensive history book.
At 36 years old, he is off to the best start of his career, with 43 points, including 20 goals, in 27 games. That puts him third in the NHL in scoring, a remarkable feat for his age.
Since launching his career in 2005, he has blazed the red light 750 times, good for 4th all-time in goals scored.
But how can he still be so dominant? Does he have a special recipe? The answer is yes! Instead of drinking water or Gatorade like all his peers, he sticks to soft drinks. When he does it on the bench, as we've seen many times, it's not a joke. He does it for real!
"There were rumors that he was drinking Coca-Cola, but that's not exactly the case. In fact, he drinks Pepsi during periods. And during intermissions, he likes Dr. Pepper!" said Emily Kaplan.
His water bottle even has yellow "tape" on it, so you know it's his!
There you have it, the secret of "Ovi" is now known to all!
