A few days earlier, we reported that the New York Rangers could be highly interested in the services of Ben Chiarot.

While yesterday, Frank Seravalli mentioned that the Tricolore is involved in the case of Vitali Kravtsov, a talented young forward from the New York Rangers.

Can we draw a parallel between the two individuals? A source wondered if a potential deal involving Ben Chiarot and Vitali Kravtsov would make sense.

Ben Chiarot could become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the current campaign. If he can't make it with the Canadiens, the team might be tempted to test the market for him, if they haven't already. The Rangers have a pretty impressive right side on defense, but on the left side, it lacks a little bit of spice. A Ben Chiarot could greatly help them defensively, especially in the playoffs.

On the other side, the CH could add a super talented young forward. He may not have found his home with the Rangers, but his offensive skills are undeniable. He could add a little something to a very anemic offense. There is no doubt in my mind that a future trio of Kravtsov, Suzuki and Caufield would have some bite.

I really like Ben Chiarot. A very reliable defender defensively, with a great touch of aggressiveness. He is also able to get the offense going from time to time. However, if the Canadiens can't come to an agreement with him and the season is lost for Montreal, we will have to think about the future of the organization. If the above-mentioned circumstances are still present in a while and such a trade proposal was on the table, I would jump on this opportunity without hesitation.
