You're probably already familiar with the impressive story of Arber Xhekaj, who went from junior hockey to the National Hockey League, never having been drafted in his life.

He went completely under the radar and because of that, he became a solid acquisition for the Montreal Canadiens.

Florian Xhekaj has a similar profile.

Arber's little brother, Florian Xhekaj, is an 18-year-old forward who is already 6-foot-2 and 190 pounds. He's a hard worker and a tough cookie.

Xhekaj plays in the OHL, for the Hamilton Bulldogs, after (also) being overlooked in the OHL draft.

Don't think that he was only noticed because of his older brother's accomplishments. Florian finished as his club's first scorer (in 2021-2022) in the GOJHL, with 40 points in 48 games. He had several offers on the table.

This season he has 7 goals, 11 points and 48 penalty minutes. (Xhekaj is feared by his opponents in the OHL as he has four battles under his belt.

As reported by Instahabs.com, Florian Xhekaj admits to having bickered with his older brother his whole life (which has certainly toughened him up)

Florian Xhekaj with the Montreal Canadiens?

With a late draft pick, or simply signing him as an undrafted player, would you like the Montreal Canadiens to acquire Florian Xhekaj? He could certainly have a role in the organization, either with the Habs or the Rocket.

Let's bet that the many NHL teams that bitterly regret missing out on "WiFi" will seriously inquire about Florian, especially since with Xhekaj, we know that the development curve can steepen in a very impressive way.
