The Laval Rocket took on the Utica Comets, the Vancouver Canucks' AHL team, on Sunday. Jean-François Houle's team lost by a score of 4-2 against them.
The Utica Comets' Twitter account manager took the opportunity to twist the knife in the wound regarding the setback suffered by the Rocket. However, Cole Caufield was the main target of the New York organization. The Montreal Canadiens' number one prospect has been struggling since the start of the 2021-2022 season, even with the Canadiens.
After the first period, the Comets posted a message that directly targeted Cole Caufield. A gesture that clearly lacks professionalism on their part.
In this tweet, it read:
"Yo @colecaufield, are you there?"
"Everyone says you're here, but we didn't notice. Didn't you play the first half?"
This infamous tweet caused a tremendous amount of controversy and reaction from many people. However, it was deleted by the Comets after the game.
