In a recent appearance on Tim and Friends, reporter Eric Engels, who covers the Montreal Canadiens for Sportsnet, addressed the Carey Price issue.

Unfortunately, we absolutely expect, at this point, that Carey has played his last game in the National Hockey League.

For Price to miraculously return to the game, look what it would take (as reported by Eric Engels):

Eric Engels on Tim & Friends talks about Price: "For him to play again, he would have to have a pretty risky procedure on his knee to make it all work. The success rate is not significantly high and it's never really been done on a player playing his position at this level."

So basically, if No. 31 wants to attempt a miraculous return to play, he'll have to agree to knee surgery, but not just any surgery. We're talking about a high-risk procedure that has a very good chance of failing, and has never been attempted on a professional goalie.

He would have to accept to put his health at risk, and risk never being able to climb stairs, play with his children, or even walk again.

That's some clarity on this issue. Price is likely to confirm this information in a press conference in the next few days.

Now we can understand why it really seems to be over for him in the NHL. It is so sad.

More details will follow!
