Met by reporters, in the last minutes at his exit from the NHL general managers meeting, Kent Hughes broke the silence about the unexplained absence of Jonathan Drouin.

Drouin, who seemed to be in great shape (last I heard), surprisingly missed yesterday's practice to undergo treatment.

Then, today, the team announced this:

On that note, Hughes did indeed just give more news, and in the case of Drouin, it's not positive.

"We just talked to Kent Hughes at the general managers meeting. He mentioned that Joel Armia was injured on Saturday. Maybe not a long absence. In Jonathan Drouin's case it might be a little longer."

- Renaud Lavoie

Fans are clearly not impressed:

Annual injury for Jonathan Drouin 🙄

It is very unfortunate for Joe.
