In the past few minutes, renowned informant David Pagnotta has published an article specifically to give an account of what he is hearing (from his sources) about the Montreal Canadiens on the trade market.

According to his sources, two players have indeed been placed back on the trade block.

"Edmundson and Hoffman were both put on the trading block prior to the trade deadline and both remain available now."

Where things get interesting is when Pagnotta challenges the prices asked by Kent Hughes and the teams interested.

"During the season, the Montreal Canadiens sought a first-round pick in exchange for defenseman Joel Edmundson, but that price may have dropped somewhat now that he will only be available to a team for one playoff run before his contract expires.

Teams such as the Carolina Hurricanes, Edmonton Oilers, Calgary Flames and Seattle Kraken were reported to have shown interest in Edmundson prior to the trade deadline and it is possible these clubs may revisit their inquiries in the coming days."

As for Hoffman, he would be available for free, so the "price asked" by Kent Hughes would simply be future considerations.

Edmundson, aged 29, is a 6 foot 5 inch, 221 pound defenseman. He has earned 13 points in 61 games this season with a -29 differential, and is earning $3.5 million per season until 2024.

Hoffman, aged 33, earned 34 points (14 goals) in 67 games last season with the Canadiens. He is earning $4.5 million per season until 2024.
