Major statement from Sean Monahan regarding his future with the Canadiens, and he very clearly announces his intentions
In the context of a very interesting article published by journalist Eric Engels, who covers the Montreal Canadiens, we learn very interesting things about forward Sean Monahan.
The one who is probably the best player of the CH to date this season really loves Montreal.
A Long Journey
He mentioned how difficult the last months of the past season were for him.
He would have done absolutely everything to be able to play for the Canadiens!
« I talked about it all the time with my wife. She was always telling me to stop playing so as not to make things worse, and she saw it the most (how hard it was), and I feel bad for her because on the bad days, it's not fun. I think last year, when I knew I would be at 20 percent if I played and that I would be in agony afterward, it was just not realistic to play. »
Sean Monahan
From the outside, we sometimes forget, but these guys want to play! In Monahan's case, it was simply physically impossible.
This season, everything is different.
It's a cliché, but he's finally healthy! He's finally himself, and it makes a huge difference. We can clearly see it!
He plays close to 20 minutes per game and he is, according to many, the best player of the Canadiens this season!
Monahan is truly a golden asset for Martin St-Louis, especially because he is good and he produces everywhere (power play, penalty kill, 5 on 5).
Moreover, he has an exemplary attitude, he is extremely proud to be a CH player and he loves playing here.
When asked about his future in Montreal, he was very clear and direct! He wants to stay here long term!
We repeat, but why trade him? It's not like he's 34 years old either.
And you, what would you do with Monahan?
