As the Habs hit the ice this morning in preparation for their matchup with the Ottawa Sens (7pm tonight at the Bell Centre), we are in for a surprise.
Jeff Petry is present for the practice. (with a non-contact jersey)
This is quite a turnaround, as last week, reliable sources were saying that the CH organization was seriously considering the possibility of ending the season of the veteran defenseman, so that he could return to the United States to be with his family.
Despite these rumours, Petry has been going to Brossard every morning (last week) to undergo treatment in order to try to return to the game and it seems that he has taken a big step.
There is no question of him going back home (to Michigan) to his wife and children, especially since he is really close to a return to the game.
Remember that the 34-year-old American injured his lower body against the Florida Panthers. Jeff Petry has 16 points (4 goals) in 57 games this season. (differential of -10)
