The Canadiens have just announced its first starting goaltender
In the last few seconds, the Montreal Canadiens announced their very first starting goaltender of the season, in anticipation of the duel against the Sabres' rookies in Buffalo.
It's the young Jakub Dobes who will get the start tonight!
We are really looking forward to seeing him in action and seeing the Canadiens' rookies at work. It smells like hockey!
Dobes, 22 years old, is a 6 foot 5 inch and 200 pound goaltender who is tipped for a regular position with the Laval Rocket.
He is among the contenders to potentially become the goaltender of the future for the organization, having had a superb university career at Ohio State. (efficiency rates of 0.934 and 0.918, with averages around 2.2 goals per game)
Dobes was drafted in the 5th round by the Habs in 2020.
