Trade finalized between the Montreal Canadiens and the Detroit Red Wings in August: Both Players Involved Are Off to a Rough Start
It's always intriguing to revisit certain trades, especially those made by the Montreal Canadiens, to assess the outcomes.
Sometimes, one team gets a clear steal, as was the case with Kirby Dach for Kent Hughes. On other occasions, a trade benefits both organizations, while at times, the transaction doesn't yield the hoped-for results for one of the teams involved.
Today, we're discussing a trade that apparently hasn't panned out for either of the two teams involved.
On August 15th, the Montreal Canadiens finalized the following trade with the Detroit Red Wings:
Both players involved here clearly aren't living up to their new teams' expectations.
While Petry has been scratched from the Red Wings lineup (healthy scratch), it seems to be even worse for Lindstrom.
"Tobie Paquette-Bisson and Gustav Lindstrom will be cut from the Rocket of Laval's lineup. They are healthy."
- Via Anthony Marcotte
So, in summary, Petry is in the stands in Detroit even though he's not injured, and Lindstrom isn't even making the cut for the Rocket of Laval lineup.
Clearly, the hope that the CH pro scouts had for him seems to have vanished.
A disappointing trade.
