A new goalie could be added to the Canadiens as early as next season
With Jake Allen's departure to New Jersey, it marked the end of the goaltending trio for the Canadiens, much to the delight of Samuel Montembeault and especially Cayden Primeau.
With his recent performances, one could even argue that he will give a good fight at the next team training camp, possibly even becoming Martin St-Louis's go-to man.
However, as reported by Danslescoulisses.com, the name Jakub Dobes should not be dismissed since he is having good times with the Laval Rocket.
Even Renaud Lavoie, a bit before the trade deadline, commented on this possibility.
"Why come to such a conclusion? You have to look at Jakub Dobes's performances with the Rocket over the past few weeks.
In his last 23 games (before last night's), he has a record of 13-6-3 with a .920% save percentage. It's clear he becomes an option as a backup to Samuel Montembeault next season."
Really? Jakub Dobes in Montreal, starting next fall?
Let's say the TVA Sports journalist speculated before Kent Hughes sent Allen to the New Jersey Devils, and we will have to wait until the end of the season before the organization addresses the question.
