Earlier this year, in January, the Montreal Canadiens organization announced the addition of Xavier Fillion to its structure, who immediately joined the Trois-Rivières Lions.

A great signing and a great acquisition!

However, today it is already over.

The Trois-Rivières Lions have just proceeded to release the Quebec forward Xavier Filion, who will therefore not be at the next CH training camp.

The native of Plessisville only played 12 games with the team from Trois-Rivières, accumulating 2 points along the way.

The former Quebec Remparts player is now free as a bird and will be able to sign with the team of his choice, as he seeks a new opportunity and a fresh start.

See the official announcement.

Filion, 21 years old, is a right-handed center player who is a former of the QMJHL.

He notably played for the Quebec Remparts for three years, from 2019 to 2022 with Patrick Roy, collecting 52 points along the way. (33 points in 66 games in 2022)

He also amassed 41 points in 48 games with the Rimouski Océanic in 2022-23.
