We have news about Montreal Canadiens forward Kirby Dach. The worst-case scenario is confirmed for him, as his season is (again) over due to a serious knee injury.

The Canadiens have just announced that Dach underwent surgery in recent hours by Dr. Thierry Pauyo in Montreal and that he will not play again this season.

Season over for Kirby Dach: a return next year is expected

See the official statement from the Montreal Canadiens, in which the organization confirms that Dach should be ready in time for the start of next season.

"Forward Kirby Dach underwent surgery on his right knee.

The surgery was successfully performed by Dr. Thierry Pauyo in Montreal, and full recovery is expected before the start of next season."

So, it's clearly a season to forget for Dach unfortunately.

The 24-year-old forward, standing 6 feet 4 inches and weighing 221 pounds, finishes his 2024-2025 season with 22 points in 57 games, including ten goals.

That's a pace of 32 points per 82 games.

Dach also finishes the season with a negative plus-minus of -29 and 40 penalty minutes.

It will now be interesting to see who will be Martin St-Louis' permanent choice to replace Dach, but everything indicates that young Owen Beck will be the lucky one.

I have a feeling Pascal Vincent and the Laval Rocket will have to get used to life without Beck.

Details will follow.
