We have news from the Montreal Canadiens just hours before their game against the San Jose Sharks, involving Patrik Laine.

As Martin St-Louis' squad took to the ice for their morning skate, a few players were missing, including forward Patrik Laine.

Patrik Laine is absent from today's practice: Martin St-Louis will answer journalists' questions in a press conference in the coming minutes

It is during MSL's press conference that we are likely to learn more.

In addition to Laine, note that Kirby Dach (injured), Josh Anderson (injured), Brendan Gallagher, and David Savard are all absent.

For now, even with the trade deadline just days away, there is no indication that these absences are related to a potential trade, but we will keep you updated if anything changes.

As for Josh Anderson, it is worth recalling that he left the team's most recent game after a heavy hit against the boards.

We are still waiting for concrete updates from the Canadiens regarding his health status.

We might also get answers on this matter during Martin St-Louis' press conference.
