Recently while watching a Canadiens and Leafs game Georges Laraque was speaking about the importance of toughness in the lineup. As an example, he talked about how Ryan Reaves took advantage of the Canadiens with Arber Xhekaj out.

During the most recent Maple Leafs and Canadiens game Ryan Reaves made his presence known. He did so by going after Montreal Canadiens forward Michael Pezzetta for landing a dirty hit on his teammate David Kampf.

Ryan Reaves went after Michael Pezzetta after he injured David Kampf in an earlier shift

Watching the game was former Montreal Canadiens enforcer Georges Laraque who commented. He believes this incident showed the importance of having someone like Arber Xhekaj on the roster.

For those who were wondering the importance of Xhekaj in the lineup, I hope you understand after yesterday's game against Toronto. Go watch the previous match between the 2 teams when Xhekaj played, Reaves was invisible, and yesterday he was driving everyone crazy! While the cat's away the mice will play!!!

Before long former Maple Leafs enforcer Tie Domi and father of current Maple Leaf Max Domi spoke up. He defended the actions of Ryan Reaves and says that he believes it would've happened regardless of whether or not Arber Xhekaj was in the lineup.

@GeorgesLaraque you know you would have done the same thing if someone hit one of your teammates like Pezzetta on Kampf. Reavo is playing great & getting ready for the playoffs he didn't want to fight but he had too
George I love ya brotherhood always sticks together

Tie Domi is likely correct in that Georges would've made the same decision that Ryan Reaves did. Either way, the decisions were made and cannot be changed. Unfortunately for Arber Xhekaj, he will have to wait until next year to get his revenge on Ryan Reaves.

Georges even went at it with a fan:

Just so you know, ill explain something to you plain and simple. When you play your first game in Toronto after signing a 3 year deal, in front of your fans, you play rival team like Montreal. You're supposed to be the #1 heavyweight in the NHL, when a guy makes you look bad in a fight, because Xhekaj did made him look bad, you go again, not the next game, the same game. Xhekaj has nothing to prove!
