According to information from the reputable Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet, the Canadiens have indeed just declined a request from the Columbus Blue Jackets.
The Ohio organization asked to speak with Jeff Gorton for their vacant general manager position, but this request was immediately refused by the Canadiens.
