We've just received our answer, live from Las Vegas, regarding goaltenders Samuel Montembeault and Jakub Dobes. We were eager to see if Martin St-Louis would stick with Montembeault or if he would already give the young Dobes another start.

Now we have the answer.

It's officially Samuel Montembeault who will be in net for his team to face Jack Eichel and the Golden Knights.

Unsurprisingly, this confirms that Montembeault is still the Canadiens' undisputed number-one goaltender (despite what some have said), and that's exactly how it should be.

Samuel Montembeault Starting in Net for the Montreal Canadiens Against the Vegas Golden Knights

Here's confirmation from RDS journalist Patrick Friolet:

Samuel Montembeault will be in net today to face the Golden Knights.

The Canadiens are seeking their 6th win in 7 games to close out 2024.

This will also be a special game for Montembeault, as he'll be up against Adin Hill:

It will be a duel between the two goaltenders likely competing for the role of Team Canada's number-one goalie for the Four Nations Cup.

Both Hill and Montembeault are currently on fire, so this is shaping up to be a solid confrontation, no pun intended.

I have a feeling the Team Canada management will be watching this duel very closely.

As for the lineup, Marty is sticking with what has been working lately!

You don't change a winning formula.
No changes to the forward lines or defensive pairs:
