The Canadiens reportedly landed a top 10 draft talent, per Steven Ellis
According to the excellent Steven Ellis, Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens would have acquired a top 10 pick from their draft class.
This is very interesting.
Most experts agreed that Kent Hughes and his associates had a solid 2024 draft, with very good selections, but the DailyFaceoff expert goes even further.
In his opinion, the choice of Michael Hage (specifically) is a real stroke of genius.
Michael Hage is a top 10 talent overall, according to Steven Ellis
He believes that the Canadiens' second first-round pick in 2024 can really become a top 6 impact forward in the National Hockey League.
"According to Steven Ellis, if not for his injury last season, the Canadiens' prospect might have been selected in the top 10 on June 28." - Marqueur
Here are his exact words:
"I truly think the Montreal Canadiens made a steal by selecting Michael Hage at 21st overall.
If it weren't for his injury, he could have been considered for a top 10 spot. He is a natural goal scorer with a good skating stride and loves to hit.
I want him to bulk up and learn to use his size a bit more, but I think there is a good chance he becomes the team's number 2 center in the future."
- Steven Ellis
Wow, this is really encouraging for the future!
Hage really seems to be a complete player, and the type of player that Montreal Canadiens fans will quickly appreciate.
Hage, 18, is a 6-foot-1, 187-pound forward.
He amassed a solid 75 points in 54 games last season with the Chicago Steel, including 43 points in his last 25 games.
In 2022-23, he recorded 10 points in 13 games.
It will be very interesting to follow his progress with the University of Michigan in the NCAA, which has an excellent program as well.
