DeAngelo, who is not easily impressed, just posted this for the Habs fans.
We love it!
This says a lot about the young Demidov.
The fact that the Montreal Canadiens' 2024 fifth overall pick has 11 points in 18 games this season in the KHL is extremely impressive, especially considering he played 3 or 4 minutes per game for most of those 18 games.
As for DeAngelo, the former Carolina Hurricanes and New York Rangers defenseman, among others, seems to be too strong for the KHL.
He has accumulated 16 points in 10 games this season from the blue line after registering 210 points in 371 career games in the NHL.
It will be interesting to watch Demidov's progression, especially since he seems to be getting a bit more ice time per game (11-13 minutes per game), on a third line with Evgeny Kuznetsov.
Regarding the possibility of seeing Demidov join the NHL this season, Bill Daly has explained why this remains highly unlikely.
However, we should see him next season, and he will be a great addition to Martin St. Louis' offense and the Montreal Canadiens.
