Lou Lamoriello causes a surprise and already settles the case of Roy
Following a sad elimination in the 2024 NHL playoffs, Islanders GM Lou Lamoriello has just made his decision regarding Patrick Roy.
It didn't take long, but he has already confirmed Patrick Roy's return as head coach of the Long Island team for next season.
So, it's mission accomplished for the former number 33.
Lou Lamoriello announces the return of Patrick Roy and surprises by announcing his own return
Lamoriello, who will be 82 years old next fall, has also effectively confirmed his own return with the Islanders.
While many experts believed he would not return, it turns out he is staying for (at least) one more season!

General Manager Lamoriello addressed the media as part of the team's end-of-season review.
Roy, 58, maintained an impressive regular season record of 20-12-5 with the Islanders, leading the team to the playoffs.
He will have a lot of work to do to repeat the experience next season with a team that clearly lacks pure talent.
