Matt Murray is currently experiencing a career low in his play. Leafs' coach Sheldon Keefe has now reached his limit.

Keefe Criticizes Murray's Performance

Following a 5-3 defeat against the Carolina Hurricanes, despite the Leafs outshooting the Canes 44-28, Sheldon Keefe had to assign responsibility.

Murray's .821 save percentage was an obvious low point, as it primarily contributed to the Leafs' loss.

After the game, Keefe tried to be nice:

Sheldon Keefe on Matt Murray's game tonight: "I thought he did a good job for us. But of course, it's difficult to win with any sort of regularity if you have to score more than four. Matt's got to find a way to keep one or two of those out.

Murray's disastrous .885 save percentage this year, along with a 3.68 GAA, shows that he is no longer reliable.

This brutal play has made Leafs fans believe that Ilya Samsonov will almost certainly get the start come playoff time.

The Maple Leafs would probably be better off with Dallas Stars prospect Matt Murray, who has managed a lower GAA through his first three NHL games.

If the Leafs can't afford to keep Samsonov, it'll be a real mess next year!
