Recently, William Nylander revealed how his summer has been going and how his contract negotiations have gone.
He revealed that he wants to remain a Maple Leaf and said he is enjoying his time in Toronto.
Nylander's agent, Lewis Gross, is one of the biggest names in the hockey agent market. He represents many big names including Johnny Gaudreau, Tory Krug, Brandon Saad, and Nylander of course.
However, there has been a disturbing trend with Gross' clients that does not bode well for the Leafs.
Of his four biggest active contracts (Gaudreau, Nylander, Krug, and Saad), three were players saying they wanted to stay with their current team and then left in free agency for more money.
The only reason why Nylander has not left yet for more money is because he has not had the opportunity to do so.
With Gross' history of having his players say they want to stay with their current teams and then letting them leave as soon as they hit free agency, it seems like Nylander will just become the next player to screw his current team over.
As seen on Maple Leafs Daily -
Are Nylander's comments about wanting to stay in Toronto genuine or just lip service?
