There are three things guaranteed in life, death, taxes and the Toronto Maple Leafs losing in game seven versus the Boston Bruins.
On Saturday night despite opening up a game seven with a William Nylander goal, the Maple Leafs eventually lost the game 2-1 in overtime fashion thanks to a David Pastrnak game winner breaking the hearts of Leafs fans again.
The game winning goal was a textbook dump and chase when Hampus Lindholm dumped the puck into the Maple Leafs zone which eventually led to David Pastrnak ending the game. During that play, you can visibly see Mitch Marner's extreme lack of effort and urgency practically letting David Pastrnak win the battle. You can also see William Nylander just completely stop skating showing no back check to his game.
It's easy for Leafs fans to blame Mitch Marner and use him as the scapegoat, however the fault should be on all the Leafs big four, John Tavares, Mitch Marner, William Nylander and Auston Matthews who have yet again failed to deliver and have gone complete ghost mode against the Boston Bruins.
