The brothers Matthew and Brady Tkachuk have made a lot of headlines in recent weeks during the Four Nations Faceoff.

They spoke loudly in the media, taunted Canadian players, and ended up having it thrown back in their faces after the game, notably by Brandon Hagel and Brad Marchand.

Also, after the game and during press conferences, another element caught attention regarding the Tkachuk brothers and it's Matthew's injury.

Knowing Matthew's character, for him to be unable to finish yesterday's game and to be unable to help Team USA beat Canada means he was seriously injured.

That's what Brady seemed to confirm in a press conference after the game.

"[Matthew Tkachuk] ultimately spent only 6 minutes and 47 seconds on the ice, missing the entire third period and overtime."

And Brady had this to say after the game:

Brady mentioned that things "do not look good" for Matthew.

"Obviously he battles through absolutely everything, and, yeah, I don't think it's too good.

I guess we'll have to wait and see what ends up happening, but I know he was really disappointed." - Brady Tkachuk

In light of his comments, don't be surprised if Matthew Tkachuk misses several weeks of action for the Florida Panthers.

This will be a situation to monitor closely.

Matthew Tkachuk, 27 years old, has accumulated 57 points in 52 games this season in the National Hockey League and recorded 3 points in 3 games at the Four Nations Faceoff.
