We are about to witness a real last-minute turnaround with the Tampa Bay Lightning, as Jon Cooper's team faces elimination tonight against the Maple Leafs in Toronto.
It should be remembered that just a few hours before the start of this first-round series, the Lightning were extremely happy to announce the unexpected return of injured Tanner Jeannot.
They said it was a major addition to their lineup and that it could change everything.
But in just a few days, things have changed extremely quick.
As Tampa Bay prepares to play their most important game of the season, Tanner Jeannot will likely be left out.

Wow! Unless there's a turnaround, the Tampa Bay Lightning's big acquisition at the 2023 trade deadline, Tanner Jeannot, will be left out and in the stands for tonight's game.
After all, Tampa Bay paid a very high price to acquire Jeannot:
Defenseman Cal Foote (a first-round pick) as well as a 2025 first-round pick (top-10 protected), a 2024 second-round pick, and 2023 third, fourth, and fifth-round picks.
Imagine paying all that, just to leave the acquired player out. Ouch.
In short, we've just witnessed a real surprise and it doesn't take much for many Toronto Maple Leafs fans to laugh at the Lightning's decision and ridicule their trade with the Nashville Predators.
Many fans can't believe this decision.
No one saw it coming, but it will be interesting to see if it will pay off for Jon Cooper (if confirmed).
