Acquisition alert for Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens
According to renowned reporter Elliotte Friedman, the Montreal Canadiens have just signed Lias Andersson. This is a player who has been linked to the Habs numerous times through trades since Jeff Gorton took office, and now he has finally landed in Montreal.
Andersson was the 7th overall pick in 2017, drafted by Jeff Gorton and Nick Bobrov with the New York Rangers. He was drafted 6 spots ahead of a certain Nick Suzuki.
Andersson, 24 years old, is a 6-foot-1 center who has amassed 17 career points in the NHL, but was very dominant in the AHL at a young age.
- 17 points in 15 games in 2021
- 6 goals in 4 games in 2022
- 60 points in 67 games in 2023
- 4 points in 3 playoff games
This is a very interesting addition, a player who can at least be a star player for the Laval Rocket, and a player who still has the potential to become a solid NHL player. (he is a former 7th overall pick after all)
