As the Montreal Canadiens are in a phase where they seem absolutely willing to give new opportunities to talented players in need, a new name has been linked to Kent Hughes.

What if the Habs signed the 2nd overall pick from the 2017 draft, Nolan Patrick?

He is currently a free agent, and according to rumors, he could be signed for almost nothing.

A one-year contract at the NHL minimum salary with the possibility of sending him to gain confidence with the Laval Rocket, would you do it?

Patrick, 24 years old, was drafted 2nd overall in 2017 by the Philadelphia Flyers, just ahead of Cale Makar, Elias Pettersson, and Miro Heiskanen.

He collected 150 points in his last two seasons in the WHL at the age of 16 and 17, and he added 30 points in 73 games during his early steps in the NHL.

Unfortunately, injuries derailed his development, and he managed to score 7 points in 25 games last season with the Vegas Golden Knights, who let him go.

Do you like the idea?

His talent certainly hasn't disappeared, and if he's healthy, it could turn out to be a big move.
