The team is 28th overall and fans are looking forward to the lottery on May 8 to see if phenom Connor Bedard will become a Habs player.
Let's just say that with his arrival, the rebuilding would take a rather unexpected turn but since we are not there yet, Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton will have a lot of work to do for the next season.
By the way, as reported by Marco Normandin of Habsolumentfan.com, the Habs GM was a guest on the Got Yer' Back podcast with reporters Ryan Rishaug and Pierre LeBrun, and Hughes agreed to answer a number of questions, including his plans to improve his team this offseason.
Here's what he mentioned to the two reporters:
Then it gets really interesting!
For some Habs fans, Hughes' words might come as a cold shoulder, but for others, it means the organization knows where it's going and more changes are definitely in store for next year.
As far as "more Kirby Dach trades" go, we love it and that's what we want to hear! To be continued this summer, Hughes intends to move and make another big move! It would be big!
Many hockey fans in Quebec would love to see a Pierre-Luc Dubois join the lineup but as we know, you can't skip steps in a rebuilding process.
However, the fact that Hughes did mention that he intends to complete other trades like Kirby Dach gives fans some hope.
