A few moments after the announcement of the trade of Jeff Petry, from the Montreal Canadiens to the Detroit Red Wings, see what journalist Eric Engels posted.

He has good contacts.

Not that I think Kent Hughes will change everything by the start of training camp, but don't necessarily believe he's done. I think there's a chance he might trade DeSmith at some point. Not a guarantee, but a chance. - Eric Engels

So, stay tuned to see if this materializes, but clearly, Engels seems to believe that Kent Hughes hasn't finished his shopping.

The next player to leave might well be goaltender Casey DeSmith.

This aligns perfectly with the information obtained over the weekend. Case to follow.

Traded to the Canadiens as part of the mega three-team deal with the Pittsburgh Penguins and the San Jose Sharks, DeSmith is a 31-year-old American goaltender. In 134 games with the Penguins, he boasts a more than respectable save percentage of 0.912.
