Player drafted 5th overall by the Canadiens: Kent Hughes can finally say mission accomplished
For several weeks now, numerous rumors and speculations have been circulating extensively regarding the Montreal Canadiens' highly anticipated first-round draft pick, the fifth overall choice.
The only certainty we have and can already confirm today, just a few days before the draft, is this:
Kent Hughes has pulled it off!
Why? Because, as highlighted by the excellent Jared Book, literally nobody knows what the Montreal Canadiens' general manager is thinking.
Literally nobody knows what the Habs will do, and that's what puts Kent Hughes in an absolutely ideal position.
"What's hilarious is that literally no one knows what the Canadiens are doing. There have been legitimate media reports of them:
-Trading up
-Trading down
-Not considering Michkov
-Putting up a smoke screen on Michkov
-Favouring Dvorsky
-Favouring Smith
-Favouring Leonard"
If he wanted to hide his game and confuse everyone, despite the intense media pressure and numerous information leaks, well, Kent Hughes can truly say mission accomplished! And we love it!
Even the other NHL teams have no idea what the Habs are thinking. It makes Hughes and Gorton even more threatening to them.
