Surprise statement on a trade involving Christian Dvorak and what the CH would receive in return
The training camps for the various NHL teams have finally started.
As every year, we all know that the lineups that will start the regular season will not be the same as those heading to the playoffs in April.
There will certainly be transactions during the season, and the journalists from The Athletic site have come together to determine who in each team is most likely to leave. The one who inherited the Canadiens for this piece, Arpon Basu, thinks that the one who will leave is none other than Christian Dvorak.
Even though many think otherwise, Basu asserts that the player acquired to replace Phillip Danault and Jesperi Kotkaniemi in September 2021 has some value on the market. As a complete center, he could be valuable for a contender, even as a third center. Here is his analysis of the situation:
"As a 200-foot center capable of winning faceoffs and playing on both special teams, Dvorak would have good value on the trade market and could really help a contender as a very good third-line center. With another year on his contract [following this one] at an amount that is not too prohibitive [$4.45M], Dvorak is in the ideal position of a good player who should attract interest on the trade market and is probably not part of Montreal's plans for the future either. But he will only be traded if the return pleases the Canadiens." - Arpon Basu
So, the Canadiens could receive something interesting in exchange for Dvorak, contrary to what many think.
We like it!
According to the latest information, Dvorak has not yet been given the green light by the medical team to return to the game. So, it is to be hoped that this injury does not prevent him from returning to the game too late and that he can be productive to impress the other teams in the league upon his return.
