On the airwaves of BPM Sports, a trade offer from Norman Flynn involving Juraj Slafkovsky and Pierre-Luc Dubois has resurfaced.

The RDS analyst is sometimes criticized for his bolder trade proposals, and it's important to remain respectful in our comments, but let's just say he still has to own up to one of his statements.

Norman Flynn was ready to trade Juraj Slafkovsky for Pierre-Luc Dubois

An interview with Flynn, dating back to January 2023, has started circulating on the web again.

Here is an excerpt of his remarks:

«If they absolutely want to have Slafkovsky, I would be ready to do it. I would take that risk. It's certain that Slafkovsky can be good, I told you he's full of talent [...], but to get a good player, you have to pay.»

- Norman Flynn

He was talking here about the Winnipeg Jets, to acquire Pierre-Luc Dubois:

«If they ask for Slafkovsky for Dubois, I would be ready to do it 1 for 1.»

- Norman Flynn

See the full excerpt:

«I wouldn't have difficulty giving Slafkovsky for Pierre-Luc Dubois.»

It must be said that at that time, Slafkovsky was seriously injured and had just accumulated 10 points in 39 games with the Canadiens, while Dubois was averaging nearly a point per game with the Winnipeg Jets... But since then, everything has changed so much.

Slafkovsky is now a true dominant monster at 20 years old, while Dubois had an extremely difficult season.

This shows once again that you have to be patient with young players and not make hasty judgments.

Let's also remember when he wanted to give up Suzuki for a 30-year old Wayne Simmonds:
