Analyst Proposes Hypothetical 9-Player Trade Offer for Ivan Demidov
We recently learned some very encouraging news for the future, as Ivan Demidov has been selected for the KHL All-Star Game. Seriously, at just 19 years old, it's an incredible achievement in a highly competitive league.
This season, he has established himself as one of the best offensive players in his country.
In my opinion, this is really solid proof of his immense potential.
His progress is good, and it makes you dream about what he could become in North America.
I think Kent Hughes must be excited to see what this young player can offer in the future.
Recently, on the Processus podcast that I listen to often, there was a heated debate.

Mathias Brunet indeed imagined a completely grandiose trade: nine prospects from the St. Louis Blues for Michael Hage and Ivan Demidov.
Simon Boisvert, aka "Le Snake," quickly criticized the idea, saying that players like Adam Jiricek, Otto Stenberg, and Dalibor Dvorsky aren't even worth 20% of Demidov.
On that, I completely agree with him.
Boisvert also reminded that in hockey, you win with stars, not just good prospects.

And Demidov is clearly a future star.
It's rare to see a player who can change a team so much.
Honestly, I think Hughes would make a big mistake sacrificing this kind of talent, even for nine promising prospects.
Let's agree, it was a proposal made simply to spark a discussion, and well, we're having that discussion, and I'm convinced Hughes wouldn't trade Demidov for those 9 prospects.
Demidov is the future of the Canadiens.
We're really looking forward to seeing him arrive in Montreal and prove to everyone that he's as good as we think he is.
