And be sure that John Tortorella will push for his team to buy.
However, here's an additional reason for them to make a move, especially on defense.
Defenders Jamie Drysdale and Rasmus Ristolainen will indeed be out for a while, suffering from upper body injuries.
Daniel Brière will therefore clearly need to acquire a defensemen.
Will he turn to Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens? We have some reasons to believe so.
1- According to reliable sources, Brière indeed called Hughes a few weeks ago to acquire a defensemen (possibly Arber Xhekaj).
2- The Habs already have a surplus of young D's and are on track to add David Reinbacher, Lane Hutson, and Adam Engstrom to its lineup (yes, there will be congestion).
3- A certain Jordan Harris might be available in Montreal, and Daniel Brière knows him very well.
As Philadelphia needs reinforcements, don't be surprised if they call Hughes to conclude a trade and don't be surprised if Jordan Harris is involved.
This remains speculation, of course, but considering Philly's position and situation, it wouldn't be surprising if we hear rumors of a potential transaction between Daniel Brière and Kent Hughes.
They could help each other out, especially since the Habs could maybe get a young forward from the Flyers in return (or a draft pick).
To be followed and kept in mind!
