Analyst Norman Flynn has just proposed a new trade for Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens.

About a month before the highly anticipated 2024 NHL Draft, which will take place in Las Vegas, many observers have their own ideas on what the Canadiens should do with their first-round pick. (5th overall)

Is the solution to draft Ivan Demidov? To draft Cayden Lindstrom or Tij Iginla? To make a big move on the trade market?

On the airwaves of RDS, expert Norman Flynn revealed what he would do if he were the GM of the Canadiens.

Norman Flynn proposes a trade involving the Canadiens' 5th overall pick

According to him, the rebuild must end, and Kent Hughes must acquire a player who will have an immediate impact.

He believes that trading the Canadiens' first-round pick could allow Martin St-Louis' team to quickly compete with other aging or less established teams in their division, such as the Detroit Red Wings, Ottawa Senators, Boston Bruins, Buffalo Sabres, and Tampa Bay Lightning.

«I would tell all the other NHL teams that my 5th overall pick is available on the trade market. If you want it, call me! I'm waiting for offers! I want to trade my pick!» - Norman Flynn

Clearly, Norman Flynn is not the most patient, and this is not the first time he has proposed trading future assets for present benefits.

Do you agree with Norman?

«What do you want to see at the draft?

1- Kent Hughes trades the 5th overall pick for an established player
2- He drafts the best player available.» - Via the 5 à 7

A case to follow.
