Top NHL Insider Reveals the Exact Price Kent Hughes Has Set for David Savard
Here is finally some concrete and very important information, just days away from the NHL trade deadline.
After apparently speaking to Kent Hughes, Pierre LeBrun has just revealed the exact price requested by the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for David Savard
LeBrun has indeed announced (to fans but also to other NHL GMs) that the Canadiens will trade defenseman Savard for a 1st round pick only, nothing less.
If they don't get an offer of that sort, they will keep him.
"According to Pierre LeBrun, Montreal will not part with Savard unless they receive:
- 1st round pick
OR
- young player equivalent to a 1st round pick
OR
- picks of equivalent value to a 1st round pick

So it's very reassuring to see that Kent Hughes will not trade Savard unless he gets a 1st choice or the equivalent in value, but at the same time, how much of a good move would it be to trade the veteran defenseman for a 29th overall pick?
