A Trade Between the Canadiens and the Oilers Involving Jake Allen? That's What The Hockey News Believes
Goalie Jake Allen has indeed been a subject of speculation between Michael Traikos and Ryan Kennedy from The Hockey News, and it's always interesting when it comes from a serious media outlet that has no ties with the CH.
According to Kennedy, Jake Allen has a good annual contract. (you read that right)
Let's hope other NHL teams feel the same, but in short, his colleague Michael Traikos then added quite a bit:
Traikos thinks he will be traded (Jake Allen), even though Edmonton has been linked to other goalies like Juuse Saros and Jacob Markstrom.
For obvious reasons, Allen will cost MUCH less to acquire than Saros and Markstrom.
It's true that he could add some nice stability in front of the Oilers' net, as they've been burned more often than not in recent years due to goalies breaking down at the worst possible time.
