Major statement on future star goalie Jeremy Swayman and the trade market: the Montreal Canadiens would definitely be interested
After an exceptional regular season in 2022-2023, the Boston Bruins unfortunately lost in the first round of the playoffs in seven games against the Florida Panthers, who then reached the Stanley Cup final.
But the Bruins will have a very different look for the next season, especially on the offensive side with the departures of Taylor Hall, Tyler Bertuzzi, the uncertain status of veteran David Krejci, and notably with the retirement of Patrice Bergeron.
That said, the Bruins will still have a strong team in 2023-2024, and as reported by [Habsolumentfan.com], the team's management might pursue offensive reinforcements by trading one of their goaltenders.
The Jeremy Swayman situation has been much talked about in recent weeks, and the young Bruins' goalie has just agreed to a one-year deal with the team on terms that will pay him $3.475 million in 2023-2024.
However, several experts have been agreeing for some time that if Don Sweeney were to trade one of his goaltenders, it would likely be Swayman since Linus Ullmark just won the Vezina Trophy.
As a result, the Bruins' GM might be able to acquire a top-line center to replace the loss of Bergeron and probably Krejci, since Swayman certainly has the potential to be a future NHL number one goaltender.

For now, the Bruins are expected to start the next season with the Ullmark-Swayman tandem in net, but it will be interesting to follow this situation until the end of the summer.
If Swayman does indeed become available, many teams will be very interested and will inquire, including Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens.
