Brad Marchand Shares His True Thoughts on Montreal Fans and the Booing at the Bell Centre

Canadian and Boston Bruins forward Brad Marchand did not hesitate to speak out about the boos during the U.S. national anthem in Montreal.

While several players remained cautious with their comments, including captain Sidney Crosby, others like Marchand had more to say..

A statement from Brad Marchand for those who booed the United States national anthem at the Bell Centre in Montreal

When asked about the boos, Marchand had this to say:

Brad Marchand, on fans booing the U.S. anthem at Bell Centre last night:

"They should not be booing the Americans during that anthem.

They have nothing to do with the things that are going on.

I do feel bad for those guys in that moment. I don't think it's right."

One thing is certain, the situation continues to generate strong reactions.

Speaking of Brad Marchand, it will be interesting to see his performance today for Team Canada, as he plays at home in Boston in front of his own fans.

Canada coach Jon Cooper on Brad Marchand:

"Love him. I can't say enough great things about him..

His heart's the shape of a maple leaf, and it's awesome to be around him."

Brad Marchand, now 36 years old, is a 5-foot-9, 180-pound forward who was drafted in the third round by the Boston Bruins in 2006.

This season, he has 44 points in 57 games with the Bruins, as well as one point (one goal) in two games with Team Canada in this Four Nations Showdown.

Over the past several seasons, he has produced at the following rates: 67 points, 75 points, 94 points, 107 points, 102 points, 104 points, and 103 points (per 82 games).
