We finally know why the Blackhawks organization couldn't reveal the exact details of what Perry really did
The Corey Perry case has certainly been the story of the week in the National Hockey League, and in the last few hours, it was the turn of the excellent journalist Martin Leclerc to comment.
Many have denounced the lack of transparency from the Chicago Blackhawks in this matter, and Leclerc explains very well here why the organization could not tell everything. (even if some were very curious to have the details)
It should be noted that the main person concerned, Perry, published yesterday an apology letter to apologize for his inappropriate behavior and to announce that he has asked for help to solve his alcohol consumption problem.
It should also be noted that a victim, who works for the organization, is involved in this case and must be protected.
"Many people blame the Blackhawks for their lack of transparency in this story. The problem is that someone was a victim of Perry's unacceptable behavior. And as an employer, Kyle Davidson has the responsibility to protect the anonymity of this victim, even within his organization.
If similar allegations occurred in a law firm, a factory, or any other workplace, no employer would disclose the existence of an investigation before it is completed, nor the names of the people involved. That would be downright irresponsible."
- Martin Leclerc, Radio-Canada Sports
There you go! That's very well said!
