Sometimes in life, you shouldn't judge too quickly, and we have a very clear example of that here.
Immediately after Patrik Laine was acquired by the Montreal Canadiens, I thought that Pascal Vincent who is the new head coach of the Laval Rocket and who was previously Patrik Laine's head coach must have certainly given his approval.
Or at least, he must have said the right things to Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton for them to acquire Patrik Laine.
However, we recall that most fans and experts believed that Pascal Vincent "didn't like" Patrik Laine because he benched him several times last season with the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Today, a new explanation has surfaced, and it's major.
Wow. This is huge news coming from the excellent Maxime Truman.
Kudos to him! This explains a lot.
We also recall that, on the other side, would Patrik Laine be as happy to join the Montreal Canadiens if he really disliked Pascal Vincent that much?
I don't think so.
On the contrary, I believe that Patrik Laine has a great deal of respect for Pascal Vincent, and vice-versa.
I truly believe we are dealing with a young player who has the right attitude, who wants to be part of the solution, and who can bring a lot to the Montreal Canadiens.
Pascal Vincent knows him extremely well, and you can be absolutely sure that Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton talked to him before acquiring Patrik Laine.
And now we know the rest of the story.
Laine was also very transparent in his press conference in front of the Montreal journalists.
Kudos to him!
