In a desperate attempt to reignite him, the Kings have made a major change in their line combinations.
Young Quinton Byfield is back at the center position (on the 3rd line) while Pierre-Luc Dubois has a golden opportunity on the first line, alongside Anze Kopitar and Adrian Kempe.
The Kings wanted Dubois to be a center, but clearly, it's not working. Will he be able to seize this golden opportunity on this 1st line that was operating at full throttle with Byfield? To be continued!
Dubois, 25 years old, who earns 8.5 million per year until 2031, has accumulated a very disappointing 19 points (9 goals) in 42 games this season. We are talking about a pace of 37 points per season, his worst in his career.
He also has only 8 points in his last 26 games. Ouch.
For comparison, young Juraj Slafkovsky (MTL) has 10 points in his last 15 games.
