Pierre-Luc Dubois finally reveals the truth about a huge rumor involving him, causing a massive reaction
While the Montreal Canadiens faced off against Pierre-Luc Dubois and the Kings in Los Angeles, renowned journalist Alexandre Gascon released a story about him.
We talked about it a bit yesterday, but see another very important element to remember from this.
"Did Pierre-Luc Dubois ever want to come play in Montreal? Some think not, but he insists that he did.
What is done is done, and the Quebecer is now in search of his happiness under the palm trees."
- Alexandre Gascon
As you know, after his trade to the Kings, many rumors circulated that Dubois never really wanted to play for the Canadiens.
Many said he simply used Montreal to negotiate a bigger contract and better conditions.
When questioned on the subject, Dubois assures that this is false! He really wanted to come play in Montreal, but circumstances made it so that it didn't materialize for him, twice rather than once.
One might even say three times.
Marc Bergevin tried, in vain, to acquire him in the draft, and then from the Columbus Blue Jackets. Then, Kent Hughes tried to acquire him from the Winnipeg Jets.
Clearly, Dubois was not destined to be a Hab, at least not in the short term.
Complete article, very interesting reading.
