2018 Junior Team Canada Scandal: Solid Grounds to Suspend Five Players
Following the information revealed by insider Frank Seravalli, who reported that everyone in the NHL is preparing for an announcement and possible sanctions concerning the 2018 Team Canada Junior scandal, there's new developments.
The solidly reliable judicial journalist Rick Westhead, from TSN, just posted this:
"Several team executives, sponsors, and player agents have told me they are preparing for the possible NHL publication of an investigation report on the alleged events involving up to eight players from the 2018 Canadian Junior World Championship team.
If the NHL names and suspends the alleged players involved, the concerned players would likely appeal any sanction before an arbitrator, in accordance with the CBA, and could initiate defamation lawsuits against the league," said the agent of a player who attended the 2018 Hockey Canada gala.
(While an investigator in October wrote in court documents that he believed there were solid grounds to charge at least five players, the London police continue to refuse any comment other than to say an investigation is underway.)"
So, progress is being made, and an NHL publication could occur any minute.
The five players (and up to eight) have also reportedly been identified by the police and authorities. The names would be revealed in this NHL publication.
