Among the new faces added, three players have joined the training camp lineup via professional tryout contracts.
Yesterday, we told you about former Nashville Predators defenseman Jacob Paquette, and today, we will introduce the two other players who are at camp thanks to professional tryouts.
Indeed, if we look at the official list published by the Canadiens.
We have only three players at camp via professional tryout contracts.
In addition to Paquette, there are the intriguing Logan Nijhoff and Simon Motew.
At 23 years old, Nijhoff is a 6-foot, 190-pound forward who already has 50 games of experience in the American Hockey League (AHL). He also played with a certain Connor Bedard with the Regina Pats.
At 21 years old, Motew is a 6-foot, 187-pound right-handed defenseman who just finished his OHL career with the Kitchener Rangers. He recorded 59 points (15 goals) over the last two seasons and played with Filip Mesar (Montreal Canadiens' 2022 first-round pick).
We wish them the best of luck at the Canadiens' training camp, as they are likely aiming more for a spot with the Laval Rocket.
Motew notably left a good impression with the Washington Capitals.
